280mm Ecobox
Section Detail
Cross Section through typical construction buildup
The 280mm EcoBox wall system is our highest-performing standard wall construction, designed for projects targeting exceptional levels of energy efficiency, comfort and building performance. By maximising the insulated structural zone, the system enables the majority of the thermal performance to be achieved within the timber frame itself, creating a simple, robust and highly efficient building envelope.
Built around the engineered EcoBox stud and densely insulated with blown woodfibre insulation, the system minimises thermal bridging while delivering U-values of approximately 0.13 W/m²K. This approach reduces the need for additional insulation layers, simplifying construction, improving buildability and reducing the number of interfaces that require coordination on site.
The 280mm system is particularly suited to Passivhaus projects, ultra-low-energy homes and developments seeking to exceed current Building Regulations. By integrating structure, insulation and airtightness into a single coordinated panel, it delivers outstanding performance while maintaining the speed and quality benefits of off-site manufacture. This integrated approach can also lead to cost savings by reducing materials, simplifying detailing and shortening installation programmes.
