220mm Ecobox
Section Detail
Cross Section through typical construction buildup
The 220mm EcoBox wall system is designed for projects seeking enhanced thermal performance while maintaining a simple, buildable and material-efficient wall construction. Built around the engineered EcoBox stud, the system integrates structure and insulation within a single coordinated assembly, reducing thermal bridging and improving overall wall performance compared to conventional solid timber stud construction.
The deeper structural zone allows a greater volume of insulation to be incorporated within the wall panel, reducing heat loss and improving the overall efficiency of the building fabric. Combined with blown woodfibre insulation and a continuous airtightness layer, the system provides a robust foundation for low-energy and Passivhaus-inspired construction.
The 220mm EcoBox system can achieve U-values of approximately 0.163 W/m²K, providing additional resilience against future tightening of energy standards. By achieving higher levels of performance within the structural zone itself, the system can reduce the need for supplementary insulation layers, simplifying detailing and construction.
